2018 LA Abilities Expo Recap!

Last month, we had the pleasure of attending the Los Angeles Abilities Expo – the go-to source for the community of people with disabilities, their families, friends, and health care professionals.

As first time exhibitors and attendees of the Abilities Expo, we left the event with full brains and full hearts, and felt extremely inspired and most of all motivated to continue our journey to continuously make improvements to CompactCath and introduce it as an option to anyone who stands to benefit from a more compact, discreet self-cath solution.

The Abilities Expo has been around for almost 40 years(!) now, designed to showcase the latest technologies, solutions, and opportunities for people living with disabilities. Our eyes were opened to all sorts of mobility options, medical equipment, home-care accessories, and support and advocacy groups, such as the Pushrim Foundation and Triumph Foundation, just to name a few.

But, perhaps the most rewarding part of the Expo was just being present and interacting with the community. The love, optimism, enthusiasm, and overall appreciation for life that we felt in the air was infectious.

Our CEO, Naama Stauber, and CompactCath user and community advocate Misty Piker, had the opportunity to speak with Leah Cevoli of IdeateTV about their favorite parts of the Abilities Expo:

And the icing on the cake? Meeting all of you! Since we first launched CompactCath about a year ago, our priority has always been our users, making sure you’re well taken care of; and it was truly a gift in itself to be able to finally put a face to the name, and being able to meet you all in person.

To everyone we met at the Abilities Expo, a big thank you from all of us at CompactCath. For your support, feedback, and company. We had a blast and already can’t wait for next year’s show!
